“Parks And Recreation” Creator Announces A Special Episode
In late April 2020, Mike Schur, the creator of Parks and Recreation, announced that the hit TV series would release a special episode soon. The storyline will follow Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) as she works from home and attempts to keep communications strong within Pawnee, Indiana's parks and recreation department as everyone is ordered to stay at home during a virus outbreak.
The goal of the episode is to give fans something to get excited about, being entertained, and get a few laughs out of the situation that we're all in. Fans can get especially excited about the cast that's involved in the special episode, including Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, Rob Lowe, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Jim O'Heir and Retta. Schur also hinted that there may be special cameo appearances by other actors.
Another purpose of the special episode is to help raise money for Feed America's COVID-19 Response Fund. A link will be provided where viewers can go to donate. NBCUniversal, the show's cast and producers, as well as State Farm and Subaru of America are all making generous donations to the cause. You won't want to miss this episode, airing on NBC Tuesday, April 30 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
