Mother-Daughter Duo Make Everyone’s Day With Realistic 3D Chalk Art
Thirteen-year-old Olivia and her mother Jan Riggins (@janrigginsart on Instagram) continue to make their neighbors smile. The dynamic duo can draw chalk art on the sidewalk better than anyone you might know.
After festivals and exhibitions began getting canceled, it upset her as an artist. But she didn't get discouraged; instead, she decided to create on her driveway and sidewalk for the neighbors!
Baby Yoda It Is
It's always a good time when little Yoda is around. This is as good as it gets for chalk artwork. It's great now, but the whole thing would be even better.
Come At Him!
Even though this isn't real, I wouldn't feel comfortable going near that. The 3D work on this one is top of the line. This could probably fool a small child.
Walking With The Fishes
This is a lot of talent. The detail in the fish's shadow is something to admire here, but really, the whole thing is a home run. This duo can't miss.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Not only is this Spider-Man, but it's the LEGO version. The artists said they love anything shiny, and you can tell they had fun doing this one for the neighbors.
Are You Ready To Play?
When they first attempted this piece, the rain rolled in and washed it clean away. This is the second attempt at it, and it looks sensational in every way. Anyone up for a game?
A Special Tribute
Every year for Earth Day, people show their appreciation for this planet. This mother and daughter decided to create a beautiful globe on their driveway, and you can't even tell it's flat...
Mind Your Beesness
It took them a couple of days to figure out how to get this bee right, but it was worth the wait. They had to use some premium pastels to capture the fuzziness.
Cheering Up A Little Boy
A young boy down the street couldn't celebrate his birthday thanks to the current situation, so guess who came to the rescue. They drew the Mr. Potato Head on the porch because it was going to rain.
Easter Came Early
When the pandemic extended beyond Easter, many couldn't believe it. Instead of pouting about it, @janrigginsart drew this marvelous chocolate Easter bunny to perfection. If they were chefs, I'd give my compliments every time.
Sending A Message
There was another young kid who had to miss a birthday celebration. It was a cold day, so they didn't get too complicated with it. This must be a fun neighborhood.
This Bag Of Candy Looks Real!
After looking at this bag of candy twice, I realized it wasn't real. The detail on this M&M's bag is almost too realistic. I'm glad this mother and daughter are getting recognition.
Two And A Half Hours Of Work
These two almost didn't do this sea turtle because they thought it would take too long. They finally started it one day at 5:30 and didn't finish it until 8:00 at night.
Waving Bye To Your Problems Like...
The dynamic duo did a number of sea creatures leading up to this little one. They used the waving gesture as a goodbye to this theme as they ventured on to different ideas.
Think The Kids Will Get Scared?
We already have killer hornets, so the last thing we need are giant beetles roaming around. They didn't know if anyone in the neighborhood would like this, and I'll bet at least one person got scared.
Great White In The Area
Seeing a great white shark in real life must be one of the scariest things ever. Hollywood only helped make them look more terrifying than ever. The drawing is so good, it makes you fear the real thing in the moment.
The Cutest Frog In Town
Not all frogs look this adorable, and that's the issue. I wish all of them looked as nice and calm as this one does. At least I can appreciate this.
Missin' The Old Days
Here is a drawing of a spoon with an egg on it. Janrigginsart brought up how they miss doing things like having a spoon-and-egg race. The pandemic changed life as we know it.
Helping At The Center For Adoption
These two have such a way with chalk that the Gladney Center for Adoption wanted a special piece. They did a great job even though they had a low amount of white.
One Of Her Favorite Movies
The younger generation might not know about E.T. that well, but they can still appreciate this. After one Google search, you can see that this looks as good as the real thing.
Olivia Did This One On Her Own!
This work belongs solely to Olivia. Remember that she is only 13 but has enough talent for three lives. You can tell she is only going to get better as she grows up.
