‘Fleabag’ Wins Big at The 2019 Emmy Awards

It was a huge night for Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her hit comedy series Fleabag at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards. The show was nominated for six Emmys and went home victorious in four of the categories.

The show swept most of the comedy series categories, with Waller-Bridge winning outstanding lead actress and best writing for a comedy series, and Harry Bradbeer winning best director for a comedy series. The show also won outstanding comedy series. It beat out Veep, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Barry, The Good Place, Russian Doll, and Schitt’s Creek.

Waller-Bridge wrote and starred in the series and has said that season two will be its last. She feels as though it was the right time to end the story, and despite all of its Emmy wins, there will not be a season three. She is also an executive producer on the drama Killing Eve, which also received six Emmy nominations. With Fleabag over, we can't wait to see what she does next!
